We LOVE Africa!
We've been working with OWI-Outreach to the World, Inc, a CA registered charity, for 20 years in rural Kenya. Our travelers get a life-changing and ever so fulfilling experience in participating in the humanitarian efforts. Trips to Africa would not be complete without an amazing safari for a couple days. There is an option to extend the safari portion, of course!

Therefore, we have partnered with true Aussies to for inside information and are able to create truly authentic experiences whether it be a luxury Bora Bora vacation, hiking in spectacular NZ countryside, snorkeling among sea creatures at the Great Barrier reef or taking on a musical masterpiece at the Sydney Opera House.

As an European transplant, I'd love to introduce you to this rich continent with such a variety of cultural gems and experiences. Aside from the magnificent metropolises of London, Paris and Rome, there are true gems in exploring the countries deeper inland i.e. quaint villages of the Cotswolds in England, small medieval cities in South of France, adorable villages high in majestic Swiss Alps, juts to mention a few.

Our next humanitarian trip to Kenya will be September 29 -October 11, 2024.
Join us and the Outreach to the World, Inc. (OWI) team in rural Kenya and volunteer in a mobile medical camp, orphans' birthday party and many other activities. And of course, an amazing African safari is planned to cap off our trip as well.

About Us
Who and What is The Traveling Twiga
My name is Marjaana Seilonen, the founder and CEO of The Traveling Twiga agency. Let me briefly introduce the special heart and soul of this agency.
Africa is my big 20+ year passion ... it really gets under your skin, as they say. To attest to this love, we adopted the name Twiga, meaning Giraffe (my favorite animal) in swahili language, which is widely spoken in East Africa. In addition to awe-inspiring safaris at luxury resorts in the East and Southern Africa, we are passionate about missions, humanitarian and conservation efforts, and offer volunteer opportunities in various projects. Not coincidentally, I am also a founding member and president of a non-profit organization, OWI-Outreach to the World, Inc. (ww.outreachtotheworld.org), with ongoing projects in rural Kenya since 2004.
We are very excited about travel and love to create extraordinarily meaningful travel experiences to cherish a life-time. We aim to transform lives through travel! We plan luxurious trips with opportunities to make a difference. We also offer budget-friendly humanitarian and mission trips inspiring greater compassion and generosity.
